Shrekahnth: Redefining Middle Eastern Fashion with Neo-Contemporary Prints

About Collections

From 2009 to 2018, Mimosa Fashion LLC in Dubai created Shrekahnth collections. They focused on high-quality prêt-à-porter. The atelier specializes in tailoring, pattern making, draping, and embroidery. Skilled South Asian artisans created the designs using both machines and hands. The embroidery designs are inspired by the rich traditions of Mughal India, Arabia, Punjab, Sindh, West Africa, and Morocco.

The Dubai atelier helped create new embroidery techniques. It also followed ethical labour practices and good employment standards. The atelier launched a resort wear and kaftan brand. This brand found success by creating commercial collections.

Silks like habotai, satin, chiffon, crepe, and georgette were central to the collections. They were printed digitally in India. Then, they imported the silk textiles to the UAE, where craftsmen made them. Most pieces featured intricate surface designs, Swarovski crystals, and glass bead decorations. Craftsmen in Dubai crafted all this.

The collections gained international recognition, appearing on runways and being exported worldwide. This journey boosted craftsmanship and highlighted a mix of cultural influences. It also brought new design techniques. This made Shrekahnth unique in Middle Eastern fashion.
